Spiced Hot Chocolate with Saffron & Cardamom

Ingredients
Cocosutra Drinking Chocolate Mix: 4 tablespoons
Milk: 400-500 ml
Cardamom pods: 3 to 4, lightly crushed
Saffron strands: 5–6 strands
Hot water: 2 tablespoons (to soak saffron)
Sugar: 1–2 teaspoons (optional, adjust to taste)
Chopped pistachios or almonds: for garnish
Instructions to make

Infuse the saffron

Warm 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl (not boiling).

Add saffron strands and let them soak for at least 10 minutes. This step helps release the vibrant colour and delicate aroma.

Heat the milk with cardamom

In a saucepan, add milk and crushed cardamom pods.

Heat gently over medium-low heat until it’s just starting to steam, allowing the cardamom to infuse. Avoid boiling to prevent scorching.

Mix in the hot chocolate

Whisk in the Cocosutra Drinking Chocolate Mix until fully dissolved and velvety.

Add sugar if using, stirring until blended.

Add the saffron infusion

Pour in the soaked saffron along with the water.

Stir gently and let the drink simmer for 1–2 more minutes for flavours to mingle.
